One avenue to the simplification of reading and writing is written here, Literacy and Numeracy Simplified. It seems simpler to make marks rather than the more complicated loops and whorls in running writing. This may be an emotional block that causes low-grade outcomes particularly for young people. If I’ve re-invented the wheel, I apologise.
